Wazeh Tea (the Alwazah brand) was originally launched in the Kingdom of Jordan, with sales mainly concentrated in the West Bank region. Unfortunately, the 1967 war witnessed the occupation of these areas, which led to the suspension of work. However, George Payne and Associates (Ceylon) Ltd. (now known as Finlay Tea Solutions Colombo (Pvt) Ltd.).The popularity of Alwazah tea is based mainly on the fact that it is a blend of Ceylon tea that has been carefully selected to suit the Arabian palate. These teas are selected from which are grown on the gentle slopes of the south and southwest regions of Sri Lanka where rains are abundant and where the climate lends itself to the quality production of tea. This tea is carefully selected and subjected to rigorous quality checks before it is bottled and exported under the Alwazah brand.
