These include, the United Arab Emirates, Armenia, Bahrain, Egypt, Georgia, Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Uganda.

No, Majid Al Futtaim operates Carrefour in 15 countries across the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Majid Al Futtaim does not operate in Israel, nor does it have business interests or affiliations in Israel.

Majid Al Futtaim is fully committed to serving the local communities in which it operates. Majid Al Futtaim’s grocery retail businesses is proud to source over 80% of its products from local and regional suppliers and producers.

3. Are the royalty fees paid to Carrefour France being used to support Israel?

No, Carrefour Group does not take any political stances across the globe, nor in any market in which it operates through its network of partners and franchisees.

Political actions by other franchisees, are not associated or representative of both Majid Al Futtaim and Carrefour Group.

As an Emirati owned business, Majid Al Futtaim takes immense pride in developing robust local and regional supply chains and fostering collaboration with regional suppliers, producers, farmers, and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This collaboration enables Majid Al Futtaim’s grocery retailing business to offer high quality products at affordable prices to its customers, sourcing 80% of its products from local suppliers and producers.

Our aim is to make a meaningful and lasting impact, aligning our success with the prosperity and growth of the markets we serve.

6. What are you doing to support the people of Gaza?

We donated over US$ 2 million to support Gaza aid relief efforts and will continue to work with local charitable organisations to ensure colleagues and customers have every opportunity to take positive action to support aid efforts in Gaza.

We also launched a fundraising drive with education Above all (EEA) in Qatar. Customers can donate through (cash counters in-store and online). Carrefour will also match these donations, doubling the impact of each contribution. Money donated will go to Education Above All projects in Gaza.
We remain dedicated to our communities and stand in solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza.

Carrefour QATAR believes in conducting its operations in an environmentally and socially responsible manner. As such, the company is an active participant in key corporate social responsibility initiatives pioneered by Majid Al Futtaim Retail.

Carrefour QATAR drives environmental sustainability of its stores through the following key initiatives:

Reducing ecological footprint through energy efficiency:

Carrefour believes in being an active contributor to local ecological balance and environment conservation. With this objective, it has installed Building Management Systems (BMS) at all its stores. The BMS facility is in compliance with Green Building Standards and includes measures such as pre-set schedule for AC, lights and exhaust fan. All Carrefour facilities are also put through regular checks to avoid excessive electricity usage. The company aims to further reduce its electricity usage by five percent in the next few years through the installation of energy efficient systems across facilities. In this regard, Carrefour has already switched all store lights to LED lighting to boost electricity savings and make store operations more environmentally sustainable.

Replacing plastic bags with eco-bags to reduce waste:

Carrefour introduced the usage of eco-bags in its stores with the aim of significantly reducing its use of plastic bags. These eco-bags are available in different sizes and can be availed at cash counters across all stores.
